Following a community governance review by Gedling Borough Council, the old St Albans Parish Council has been dissolved and replaced by two new councils, St. Albans Parish Council (new) and Deer Park Parish Council. The restructure officially took effect on 1 April 2026. Assets from the old parish council were divided by Gedling Borough Council between the two successor councils.
The election for the newly formed St Albans Parish Council took place in May 2026 and was uncontested. Because there were fewer candidates than available seats, the nominees were automatically elected without a ballot. While the council is structured to have seven seats in total, the process concluded with six councillors successfully taking office, leaving the council with one vacancy to fill as it begins its work for the community.
Please note that the map below is a rough estimate of the parish boundary pending receipt of GIS data from the borough council.
